From 2020 to 2021, the China Antarctic surveying and Mapping Research Center of Wuhan University, in conjunction with the Yulong Snow Mountain cryosphere and the national field scientific observation and research station for sustainable development, developed China's first comprehensive real-time glacier monitoring system. In July, 2021, the system successfully conducted a glacier movement monitoring test in Baishuihe glacier 1 of Yulong Snow Mountain. Recently, the R & D team upgraded the system.
With the help of GNSS, sensors and other technical means, the glacier real-time monitoring system can monitor the polar glacier data in real time, and transmit the observation data to the background monitoring terminal in real time through the 4G network, realizing the continuity and accuracy of data collection and online visualization of data transmission, greatly reducing the difficulty and potential risk of manual monitoring of high-altitude glaciers.
In the R & D process, "three steps"!
Mr. yangyuande, who has been to Kunlun station for three times and is mainly responsible for the hardware part of this research and development process, said that the completion of the glacier monitoring system mainly consists of three steps:
01 step 1
The scientific research team went to Yulong Snow Mountain in May, mainly relying on GNSS to study the glacier movement, and verified that the data can be returned in real time
02 step 2
In June, the team found that continuous observation can be achieved by using solar and wind power. At the same time, they also tried to build a continuous glacier observation system by putting laser ranging and camera on it
03 step 3
In terms of mechanism, the change of glacier is related to the absorbed energy. The team successively put on the meteorological and radiation sensors, and finally realized the real-time observation of multi-sensor
